Your alarm goes on but you want to sleep for a little bit longer. Then you press the snooze button and you slept for several more minutes. Even though you are getting more sleep you are feeling more tired when you finally wake up.
In a world where alarms do not exist the body is waking up naturally because of its biological clock. This clock works in a way that makes us sleepy in the same time during the day. Depending on how and when our organism is used to sleep. Like sleepiness, the clock works as a natural alarm too.
Couple of hours before we wake up our body is getting ready for that process. Sleeping become lighter, body temperature increases and creation of the hormones dopamine and cortisol starts.
The problem with alarms is they stop natural awakening and is stops the cycle of sleeping. This way the body is caught unprepared. This is the reason why all of us press the snooze button.
Pressing the snooze button brings you more harm than comfort and that is why you should get up right away. Pressing the snooze button will bring you exhaustion during the day.
Go to bed earlier so you do not have to feel tired the next day.
