Eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis will not be much of a help if you do not sleep properly.

1. You use the pillows only for your head
If you sleep on the side, place a pillow under the upper arm and one between your legs. On the other hand, if you sleep on your back, place a pillow under your knees in order to relieve pressure on the lower back. This way your body is in the correct position.
2. You do not have proper sleeping period
In case you went to bed at 9 pm on a Friday night, and the next day you lay in bed watching TV or whatever for several hours, your body will not know what time it needs to be “off” the next day. If you have a certain period of time when you go to bed and when you get up, your body will learn when sleeping time and when it is not. If you teach your body when to wake up and when to go “off”, waking up will be much easier.
3. You go to bed with full stomach
It is recommendable to eat at least three hours before going to bed. If you want an evening snack, make sure it is something easily-digestible. In case you go to bed before three hours have passed, you might face some less-quality sleep that evening because your intestines are having trouble processing the food.
4. You drink alcohol in the evening
It is true that alcohol can help you fall asleep, but at the same time alcohol reduces sleeping quality. In fact, the more you drink the worse you will sleep and in the morning you will be tired.
5. You sleep on your stomach
Many people who sleep on the stomach do not know that sleeping this way is very bad. In order to breathe, you need to turn your head to one side and this way your neck is twisted. If you practice sleeping this way you may face some neck problems and have headaches.
